- Privileged-skilled choosers = M/C parents, confident, discussing issues with schools, Use their cultural & material capital, may even move house to attend a better school
- Disconnected-local choosers = W/C parents, lack confidence, place their kids in the nearest schools due to cost issues
- Semi-skilled choosers = W/C with M/C attitudes, often decide on the school based on others opinions

- Competition between schools only benefits the M/C
- The real cause of failing school is not poor teaching but inadequate funding for the govt.
- Edu. does not impose a shared national culture, but the cultures of minority - R/C
