Point- Drugs and Alcohol
Explain - Not thinking straight, lack of right and wrong as the drugs/alcohol depresses they're senses
Example - 2/3 of violent crime committed by the someone under the influence.
Example - 15x more likely to be violent
Point - Pressure on boys
Explain - They may feel as though they have to be violent, aggressive and maybe even controlling just to fit in, they also may feel pressured
Exampple - 80% of domestic abuse cases are committed by a male
Explain - Bad influences/example set on perpetrator from an early age, as well as the trauma that follows

Explain - Never happy with what they have even if they are particularly fortunate, always craving more
Example - Natalie McGarry stole £25,000
Point - Poverty
Explain - In need of basic necessities and unable to afford them, so they're only choice is to steal
Point - Unemployed
Explain - Often find themselves bored and in need of a pass time, many resorts to joining gangs
Example - Glasgow has a high unemployment rates as well as a high gang level
Example - 25% of dishonesty crimes are for clothing

Point - Mental disorders
Explain - One biological cause of crime may be because someone has a brain disorder like psychopathy
Example - Aaron Campbell was labeled a psychopath by experts after he murdered and raped 6 year old Aliesha Mcphail
Point - Hormones
Explain - One biological cause of crime may be because of the hormones in a persons body
Example - 90% of people in Scottish prisons are men proving that testosterone may be a huge factor in the violence of men, causing them to lash out
Point - Genetics
Explain - One biological cause of crime may be because a persons brain isn’t fully developed
Example - In 2020 Scottish Judges started to limit under 25 year old's going to jail because evidence suggests their brains aren't as developed as they should be
