Category
Free Morphemes
Morphemes that can stand by themselves as a single word. For example: tour, open
Lexical
Set of ordinary nouns, adj.s that carry the content of the message. We can add words to them. It is an open class of words.
Functional
Set of functional words such as prepositions, conjunctions, articles and pronouns. We can't add words to them. It is a close class of words.
Bound Morphemes
Forms that cannot normally stand by themselves and they are attached to another form. For example: -er, -est
Derivational
Morphemes that are used to form new words by adding affixes to them, and change the grammatical category.

Inflectional
Morphemes that are used to indicate the aspect of grammatical function, if the word is singular, plural, past tense, or other tenses.
