Facts: The band formed in Cheltenham, England, in 1978. Their 1985 single, 'Love Like Blood' peaked at no.16 in the UK charts. Their debut album's cover depicts a photograph of rioters in Derry, Northern Ireland, in 1971, escaping CS gas deployed by the British Army during The Troubles. The vocal tracks for 'Pandemonium', 'Millennium' and 'Exorcism' on their album 'Pandemonium' were recorded in The King's Chamber in The Great Pyramid of Giza, and there were alleged paranormal events during the recording. Jaz Coleman, the lead singer and keyboardist, is also a classical composer and has worked with some of the world's leading orchestras. The Nirvana single 'Come As You Are', features the same riff as Killing Joke's song 'Eighties', and Killing Joke complained that the main riff on the Nirvana song plagiarised the riff of Eighties.
