Loss of culture
When G.B. was born in America, he was no longer thought of as a Vietnamese person, by both himself and his parents.

G.B.'s family in Vietnam said "You have been in America for too long" (it was all his life) and that he has lost the Vietnamese culture.
He is encouraged to stay in Vietnam, but gives no sympathy to the idea.
