The Byzantine Empire was a Roman civilization that is modern-day Istanbul. The civilization was mostly Christian but mixed the beliefs with Greek beliefs as well as their own
Constantinople
The former capital of the Roman empire and a very rich area. Concurred by the Ottoman Empire in 1453 and leading the Byzantine empire to fall.
Fall of Constantinople
The Ottoman Empire breathed their land wall and took over the capital, making the Empire fall
Justinian I
An emperor of the Byzantine Empire during 527-565. People say he helped grow the military there as well as the territory.
Hagia Sophia
A Byzantine Dome that was originally a Christian church but changed into multiple things such as a mosque, a museum, and a monument.
Eastern Orthodox Church
The second largest Christian church. The Orthodox Churches follow a bit of a different religion Christianity but they are very similar.
Iconoclasm
A time in the Byzantine Empire where the use of religious images were prohibited.
Theme System
A military system specifically for farmer-soldiers that would give them land, it was believed to be a big aid for the Empire

A chemical weapon that was much like a modern-day flamethrower. Traded only in Constantinople.
