Organize with the following...
Title Slide
Introduction, background, and purpose.
Findings and approach.
Conclusion and credits.
Find the primary purpose and question you want the audience to remember.
Know the audience and what appeals to them.
Effective Slides
Make slides attractive and simple.
Limit the amount of text per slide.
Give no legend or caption to any figures or tables.
Use a simple, legible font.
Do not clutter the slides with too many figures and tables.
Preparation
Prepare any visual aids beforehand.
Have notes in a large font size and memorize the opening.
Know which programs and websites could be used to make a slideshow and/or your visual aids.
PRACTICE!
Dress appropiately.
Delivery
Stick to the time limit but don't talk too quickly.
Make sure everyone can hear you.
Maintain eye contact with the audience.
Use gestures and manage body movement.
Stay within the presenter's triangle, which is between the screen, projector, and the audience.
