Direct Ways to Measure:
Grab Sampling: Collecting a discrete sample of air, water, soil, or other environmental media at a specific location and time, followed by laboratory analysis.
Continuous Monitoring: Using instruments that provide real-time measurements of pollutants in the air, water, or soil. Examples include continuous air quality monitors or water quality sondes.
Passive Sampling: Placing passive samplers in the environment to absorb pollutants over a period of time, which are then analyzed in a laboratory.
Remote Sensing: Utilizing satellite or airborne sensors to detect and measure pollutants from a distance. This is particularly useful for monitoring large areas or inaccessible locations.
Radioactivity

Adv: enhances food security through pest control, soil moisture measurement, and developing new plant varieties

Biomagnification
Biomagnification is the rise or increase in the contaminated substances caused by the intoxicating environment.
Bioaccumulation
Enhances the persistence of industrial chemicals in the ecosystem as a whole, since they can be fixed in the tissues of organisms

Chronic pollution is permanent pollution caused either by repeated or continuous emissions of pollutants, or the presence of very persistent pollutants.
Acute pollution means pollution of significance which occurs suddenly and should take into account worst case discharge scenario from the facility.
