INSTRUMENTS
BRASS
Cornet
wind instrument sounded by lip vibration against a cup mouthpiece; it was one of the leading wind instruments of the period 1500–1670. It is a leather-covered conical wooden pipe about 24 inches (60 centimetres) long, octagonal in cross section, with finger holes and a small horn or ivory mouthpiece.
Trumpet
A standard modern trumpet is a long, slender metal tube with three valves. It's bent into a paper clip shape, but if it were stretched out, it would be 6.5 feet long. The trumpet is played by holding it horizontally and buzzing into the mouthpiece.
French Horn
The horn (commonly known as the French Horn, though the modern design actually has its roots in Germany) is a brass instrument with a circular shape and rotary valves that create more space for air and change the pitch that the player plays. The bell of the horn faces "backwards," away from the player.
Trombone
Two U-shaped tubes are linked at opposite ends to form an “S.” One tube slides into the other so the overall length of tubing can be extended or shortened at will. If you add up all the tubing, the trombone is around 9 feet long.
