The USA Found that the USSR where supplying Cuba with nuclear weapons so that meant that they could reach the USA the USA then blockaded Cuba in response until the USSR and USA joined together in a treaty and agreed to remove the nuclear weapons from cuba

This then led to a period of relaxed tensions known as detente and a hot line being set up between usa and the USSR and a series of treatys including salt 1 Helsinki accords, test ban treaty

Batista was the leader of Cuba and had good relations with the USA Fidel Castro overthrew Batista and took over from him and then quashed the Attempted invasion during the bay of pigs invasion
