Modem
It takes data sent by one network and translates it so that it can be understood by another network.
Wireless Access Point (WAP)
This hardware is needed for wireless connections.
Router
It joins two networks together.
Hub
It receives a message and then sends it to all the computers that are connected to the network.
Network Interface Card (NIC)
It allows a computer or other device to connect to a network.
Router
It is usually used to connect a LAN or a home network to the internet.
Server
It stores and sends computer files and messages to users and to devices.
Switch
It receives a message and the it decides which computer the message is meant for.

Its job is to make sure files go to the person or device that they are intended for
