new Species
evidence
The Variation was how many butterflies were killed compared to how many were still alive. There was also the time of how long we had to hide and hunt them. The last variation is how many offspring we had to hide over the different generations. There were six different colors and we know the offspring had those traits because for example the blue butterflies only had blue offspring. The selection was how many where we hid the butterflies and there was only a certain amount of places where we could hide the butterflies
During the paper butterfly experiment, hiders got 3 minutes to hide butterflies while hunters got one minute to find them and at the end, we added up how many of the different colors were found. Allele frequencies change by the stuff that goes on with the species such as how many of those species were born and how many have died that will impact the allele frequencies and the higher that number is the more traits there are. There are multiple steps and here is what they are and what they mean.First, we separate and that means taking something away. Different mutations happen when we separate species. Over time the population becomes different.
There is speciation which is how the population becomes divided, prezygotic Barriers are where they can't make offspring or reproduce.

connection
My connection relates to this because the are environmental factors with working there such as the grese sunlight heat and the cold
Evidence for Evolution
Evidence
One thing that is necessary for evolution is time because you need to let things evolve and that takes years. Evolution can take 100’s of years. There are different types of selection such as natural selection and artificial selection. The difference between the two is that artificial selection is where we breed different types of animals. Natural selection is where the environment changes different things such as making new animals or causing mutation and that affects different things. Artificial and natural selection are different in many ways. Natural selection is when the environment changes and causes mutation to do different things. Artificial selection is when we purposely cause something to change such as breeding different types of foxes until they are more dog-like and you can own them. Natural selection can take 100 years but artificial selection can cause something to change every year. When we were breeding different foxes we used the Siberian fox and we noticed they were aggressive or docile. We only selected the docile ones and after a few years we noticed they acted like dogs and we can now own them after they make sure there is no aggressive behavior in their DNA.
This relates to my connection because you select what you want to do when you get older or a college and they pick different people to be accepted into the college. Extinction plays a role in evolution because if nothing died or did not happen in the right order we would not be here and the earth would be overcrowded by animals and humans. Extinction also shows us what happened to them like with the dinosaurs. Depending on what types of traits are left over extinction can also cause the loss of habitats such as animals running out of food
When we were deciding what we were going to do in Tennessee we made a list and got rid of the stuff we knew we wouldn't have time to do and that applies to extinction because in an ecosystem things die and you get rid of things.

claim
Claim: I claim that there are many different things for evolution such as natural and artificial selection. You also need time for things to evolve
connection
My connection relates to this because over time I learn more things such as kirchen and how to do stock and Laundy
Common Ancestry
evidence
We aren't sure what happened but one thing we do know is called LUCA. LUCA was the last universal common ancestor. LUCA lived deep in the ocean it didnt get energy from the sun because where LUCA was there was no light so instead it used hydrogen carbon dioxide and nitrogen for food and that is what it used for energy. The 355 genes identified for LUCA means it lived near hydrothermal vents which are cracked deep in the ocean and heat comes from it. There is Mitochondria in life which is DNA separate from the host and that gets copied and passed to the offspring by the mother. What it means to be alive we are not sure yet but we do know if something has DNA then it is alive but if it has RNA it isn't. For example, we think viruses are alive but in reality, they aren’t because they have RNA. some other examples on if it is alive if it reproduces if it depends on nature for its food or energy. We can determine evolution by the evolution trees. Evolution trees are from your ancestors and any family or anything between them and the present day. We all have a common ancestor. A common ancestor is the root of the tree it is a common trait that everything shares. If parts of the evolution tree are in the middle and don't make it to prest day or the top of the tree that means it went extinct or no longer exists. We also have evolutionary relationships, the branches that are closer together. The closer they are the more traits they share and the farther they are the fewer traits they have. We use a phylogenetic tree with traits and genetics to reconstruct an evolutionary tree.
