Using this style of writing helps me to make a connection and get a feel of what it would be like. It's like going back in time to the tour in 1981. The writing and description is great as it really paints a picture in my head of what it was like.
The book starts of perfect, gently introducing us to the characters, there beliefs and personalities. Then it starts introducing the problem by writing about the fights Sarah and her dad had and then building on to that with the protests and the springboks actually coming to new zealand. It is one of very few books that takes things slow but in an interesting way, slowly feeding me bits of the problems and drama unfolding. Overall I would rate this fabulous books a 9/10.
This book turned out to be a great book. It taught me lots more about the springbok tour in a interesting, fun to read way. The story is about a thirteen year old boy who goes through lots of changes because of the springbok tour. My favourite part is on the first march were some many people come together to stop something that they are against. Which just shows how persistent people are, if there is a way or a reason they should do something they won't stop until it has been done.
