apparitions
Beware Macduff, Burnham Wood must cometh to you, No man of woman born can kill you
Ambition
The supernatural links to ambition. This is seen through the dagger scene as we see how much much macbeth's unchecked ambition has grown due to his mental state declining leading to hallucinations of a dagger to decide whether or not he has the ambition to finally kill Duncan. His ambition began due to the catalystic prophecies of the witches.
power
Lady Macbeth - powerless in a patriarchal society - "come ye spirits" - Gives her the power to manipulate her husband further. - when macbeth first meets the witches - acts on Regicide - power turns to paranoia when he wants more from the witches - less powerful
guilt
The supernatural links to guilt through the scene of Lady Macbeth when she is trying to wash the hallucinated blood spot from her hand which shows that she feels guilty for committing the act of regicide and she is feeling the supernatural looking at her
light vs dark
the supernatural is related to light vs dark as it links to a constant battle between evil and justice; evil being macbeth, Lady Macbeth and the witches whilst justice is Macduff and Malcolm.
Gender
The supernatural links to gender through the use of Lady Macbeth's character and how the supernatural give her the consequence of breaking out of the gender barrier in order to try and be something she's not. Macbeth also attempts to show his masculinity
