power
The supernatural is inexplicably linked to power. the witches hold power over Macbeth although this power is not physical. Through their promises of kingship, they seem to dictate Macbeth's actions, even though it could be argued that he acts of his own free will. As Macbeth's own power increases, he believes he can control the supernatural, seen in act four, scene one where he demands answers to his questions and threatens the witches
Ambition
Ambition plays a big role in the downfall of the two main characters in Macbeth. Ambitions plays a major role in the downfall of lady macbeth due to her ambition to be the highest in the country and going to get the daggers from Duncan's murder scene and therefore seeing the body and slowly descending into madness. The dagger speech is the perfect example of ambition as it is Macbeth shown to be having an inner conflict about murdering Duncan but in the end he ends up going with his ambitious nature and murdering Duncan.
Guilt is shown throughout Macbeth with Lady Macbeth. After macbeth killing the king her guilt overwhelms her leading her to her going hysteric and hallucinate blood on her. Her guilt overwhelms bro sm that she kills herselg
gender
The supernatural characters in the play are all female when the naturally strong characters are male. Probably mysoginism or something

Light vs Dark
Everything evil and supernatural takes place in the dark e.g Macbeth killing the king and the witches. The light in the play presents hope. Biblical reference to "Let there be light".
