Hemorrhagic Stroke - Coggle Diagram
Hemorrhagic Stroke
Cerebral Aneurysms
Rupture
Clinical Presentation
Acute thunderclap headache, acute loss of consciousness, nausea/vomiting, seizure
Cerebral Arteries
Subarachnoid space -> through brain and spine, lumbar puncture to test for blood products
-
Rupture Risk
If larger >7 mm, growth with time
Treatment
-
Endovascular coiling
Catheter inserted into artery towards the aneurysm and coils are inserted into aneurysm until it is filled
Other Presentations
Sentinel Bleed
Thunderclap headache, maximal at onset, predominant clinical feature, severe intensity, CT may be normal

-
Intracerebral Hemorrhage
-
-
Types of spontaneous
Subcortical
-
Cause of small vessel disease leading to microaneurysms in small arteries, responsible for lacunar ischemic infarcts
Lobar
Involving major lobes of the brain, hemorrhage extends out of cortex
Amyloid angiopathy, anticoagulant use or coagulopathy, hemorrhagic conversion of an ischemic infarct, metastic hemorrhage
