Germany and Berlin divided into 4 US, UK, USSR and France
In Jan 1948 US, UK and French zones merge and in Apr 1948 a new currency is introduced - Stalin saw this as a threat and in June 1948 introduces a new currency in East Germany
On the 28th June 1948 USA airlifted supplies into W.Berlin - by September 4,600 tons of supplies per day - 275,000 trips were made
