- - - - Christ’s ministry is an example of Christian Poverty which should be the ultimate example for the Church: He mixed with outcasts e.g. One of his apostles was a zealot, He resisted the demands of religious leaders and did not give in to their threats, He was persecuted and crucified by political authorities for his cause.
        
        Guitierrez believed that if the Church encapsulates the concept of Christian Poverty and emulates the values shown in Jesus ministry, there will be a preference for the poor, an opposition against tyranny and oppressive regimes, and an establishment of justice for poor communities.
