That Face, Context - Coggle Diagram

- - - - Hospital machines beeping, telephone ringing and the faint murmur of people talking outside. THIS WOLD HELP CONVEY THE SCENE AS IT IS SET IN A HOSPITAL
    - - Alice in hospital gown, Mia in jeans and a faded ACDC shirt whilst Henry is in a plaid shirt whilst wearing jeans
    - - Proscenium Arch as it will frame the piece of drama whilst also making the stage accessible for moving props on and off of the stage.
    - - As a lighting designer I would ensure that I would have a wash with a bank of lanterns hanging from the bar pointing towards the stage, they would be rigged. I would do this because it lights the whole stage meaning that no area of the stage will be in darkness. I would use fresnels or parcans to create the bank of lanterns as they will create a high intensity level intensity wash. We need to create a high intensity wash because we are in a hospital, and the lighting within a hospital is very bright which will make Alice’s hospital room look pristine.
    - - Hospital, Mia, Henry, Izzy and Alice. Mia seems to be impressed with the bruise that she has created on Alice's face and has no remorse. Henry is disappointed and scared of Mia as he has no clue that she was capable of doing such a thing. Izzy doesn't seem to care and is only there because her parents have made her take Alice flowers.
  - - - Bed on truck, ripped up pictures, artwork and photos pinned to the walls, end on stage
    - - Henry wearing pyjamas, Martha wearing a night dress
    - - Martha banging around in the kitchen
    - - Boy's Room, Martha and Henry. Martha wakes up in bed with a young boy next to her. We assume this is her young lover but find out this is her son, whom she is unusually close to. They flirt a little, but Henry ends up drawing, Martha helping and Martha reads a book about Marie Antoinette
  - - - Henry's bedroom
    - - Sound of running water, doors slamming
    - - Henry starts the scene off by wearing a towel around his waist and ends up putting on one of Martha's dressing gowns.
    - - (Martha, Henry). Martha is angry with Henry because he has been out for the night, Martha realises that he has slept with a girl due to the love bite and is furious.
  - - - Pyjamas, Alice in childish maybe pink shirt and trouser pyjamas. Izzy in a nightdress- green and silk like? to show jealousy and perceived power/sexiness (as green can be seen as royal?). Mia- shorts and tank top- maybe red? Showing the real power or a light blue to show her naivety.
    - - Occasional walking past the door sfx. Music playing (Girls Just Wanna Have Fun??) diegetic sound from stage speaker. Perhaps some creaky floorboard sfx too
    - - Dorm Room, Izzy, Mia and Alice, Alice tied to a chair and blindfolded. Izzy and Mia are torturing her, Mia has drugged her and has given her too much Valium that it knocks Alice out. Power shifts from Izzy to Mia when Izzy starts to worry about her parents and UCAS, seeing that, Mia takes advantage and begins to tease Izzy, taking the power.
  - - - Mia, Izzy, Henry
  - - - Martha, Henry
  - - - Spotlight on the table, light yellow gel over. Light yellow frontlit with a bank of lanterns (this could signify the sun and be the Key Light if angled correctly). Amber lamp/candle table centre, in the flowers?
    - - Hugh- High end black suit, tie and white shirt with sensible leather shoes. The clothes would be thinner but fitted to ensure the actor doesn't get too warm but the character looks rich enough. Mia- Summer light blue dress, slightly too short, light, flowy material, low cut but not too low. Casual but dressed up to make an effort for her dad (put shorts on underneath for modesty)
    - - Quiet Pre-recorded sfx undertone of people talking in the background to show they are not alone
    - - On the thrust. Single table, high quality looking tablecloth, with a vase of flowers on (light inside vase?) Wooden chairs with good quality looking cushions on the seats. "silverware" placed formally on the table, which Mia can expect later
    - - Hugh, Mia. Meet at a restaurant to discuss everything that has happened since Hugh left last time to go back to his new family Hong Kong. Mia finds out that Hugh paid off her school to keep quiet about Alice. Hugh finds out Henry hasn't been at school for years so he can stay home and look after Martha and that Martha may be in a worse state than he thought. Mia realises that Hugh is not the hero she thought he was and decides to try and stop him going home
