Get Your Saltwater
Boil it in a Pot
Catch the Steam or Cause it to Float Naturally Over to Somewhere Cooler, Leaving the Salt Behind.
Cool the Steam or Let it Cool Into Freshwater.
Collect your saltwater. You will need a BIG source of saltwater or brackish water.
Connect your source of saltwater to a filter, preferably a 'reverse-osmosis' filter, because those work better as 'reverse-osmosis' is the what this process is called in scientific words.
BLAST
the saltwater through the filter, which should leave the salt behind. Maybe just pour saltwater in, depending on the filter.
The saltwater is sent into the plant and scanned for any unwanted things like rocks or sand.
Pre-treatment for the water, removing any solids from the liquid.
Reverse-Osmosis process, sending water through membranes, getting rid of salt.
Post-treatment to water, just to have a final check on water and to meet Sydney Water's standards.
Water sent to Sydney
Getting rid of minerals that were separated from water.
