Aspirin: Anti-inflammatory- Relief of mild pain-Hypersensitivity, recent bleeding-PO- Nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, bleeding, allergic reactions
Epinephrine: Simulates nervous system- Anaphylactic reaction-Chest pain of cardiac origin-IM- Hypertension
Naloxone: Reverses respiratory depression- Opioid poisoning- Hypersensitivity-IM,IN- Nausea, vomiting
Ipratropium, Albuterol: Stimulates nervous system, causing bronchodilation- Asthma/difficulty breathing with wheezing- hypersensitivity, tachycardia- inhalation- hypertension,tachycardia, anxiety, restlessness
Oxygen: reverses hypoxia- Hypoxia or suspected hypoxia- very rarely used in patients with COPD- inhalation- Decreased respiratory effort in rare cases in patients with COPD
Oral glucose: when absorbed, provides glucose for cell use- low blood glucose- Decreased level of consciousness, nausea, vomiting-PO- Nausea, vomiting
Nitroglycerin: Dilates blood vessels- chest pain of cardiac origin- Hypotension- SL, tablet, or spray- headache, burning under tongue, hypotension, nausea
