What is it?
The color wheel is the basis of color theory, because it shows the relationship between colors.
Where did it came from?
Newton had split white light into a spectrum by means of a prism and then wrapped the resulting spectrum around on itself to create the color wheel.
Why was it made?
The original purpose of the color wheel was to show how light can be separated into its constient colors and recombined into white light.
