Avoid Microbeads
Microbeads are dangerous to our oceans. Because of their size, they are able to get past most filtration and waste management systems. They also absorb toxins and can hurt wildlife if consumed (Plastic microbeads 2021).
Use non disposable or biodegradable products
Go paperless! Contact your bank or credit card company to send your statements electronically!
Conserve Water
Take shorter showers
Turn off auto water systems if it has been raining
Turn off the water while brushing your teeth
Limit your laundry days
Fix water leaks
By fixing water leaks, homeowners can save more than 10 percent on their water bills (Fix a Leak Week 2023).
Install the correct water hose
All rivers lead to the ocean. Even the highest mountain, Mt. Everest, is connected to the ocean by flowing water (Repasch, 2021). By making sure we dispose of our waste and products effectively, we can help our rivers become healthier as well! By making our rivers healthier, it makes our oceans healthier!

Don't purchase jewelry made with coral
Climate change, unsustainable fishing, and pollution are already causing damage to our coral reefs. By purchasing jewelry made of coral, it contributes to the habitat loss and over-harvesting of coral reefs (Coral: The gift you don't want to give, or get | national oceanic ... 2019).
Do NOT purchase shark products!
Buying shark products is damaging to threatened or endangered shark species. Some shark products are mislabeled due to how many endangered species there are. It is a good idea to not buy them altogether (Angel, 2023).
