TREATY OF VERSAILLES
- military provisions put in place, airforces not allowed, limits on the size of navy vessels and artillery, demilitarisation of the Rhineland
lays entire blame for war on Germany
- Germany had to pay intense reparations, machinery, locomotives and shipping to be given to the allies, and large annual coal shipments had to be made to allies
- Germany lost lots of territory and colonies that were handed to the allies
TREATY OF SAINT-GERMAIN
- declared that Austro-Hungarian empire should be dissolved. Also accepted responsibility for starting war
- had to recognise the idependence of Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Poland etc.
- included war reparations towards the allies, and a union with Germany was forbidden
- Austria was reduced to a small, landlocked country of 7 million
TREATY OF NEUILLY-SUR-SEINE
- Western Thrace was handed to Greece, Southern Dobruju went to Romania and Macedonian territory became part of Yugoslavia
- army got reduced, had to pay reparations
- signed by Bulgaria
TREATY OF TRIANON
- peace agreement that formally ended the war, signed by Hungary on 4 June 1920
- regulated the status of an independent Hungarian state and defined its boarders. Put Hungary in the same situation as Austria
- slovakia and ruthenia were given to Czechoslovakia, Croatia became a part of Yogoslavia and Transylvania was handed to Romainia
- army reduced and had to pay reparations
TREATY OF SEVRES
- marked the beginning of the end for the Ottoman Empire. Punitive in nature
- limited the army, placed major restrictions on the Turkish navy and placed Turkey's financial affairs under allied control
- wartime agreements meant that Britian would end up taking Palestine and Iraq, and France would take up Syria and Lebanon
