Deficits
-
-
Aphasia: Loss of language ability (Brocas - Cannot produce, Wernickes - cannot understand)
Pre-frontal: Persoanlity, volition, judgement deficits
Dominance
Dominant Hemisphere: Performs most aspects of language, rote memory, procedural knowledge
Non-Dominant Hemisphere: Performs most aspects of visual spatial orientation, attention, emotional aspects of speech
Lesions
Broca's area: Dominant - Deficit of expressive language, Non-Dominant - Loss of speech inotation
Wernicke's Area: Dominant - Loss of speech comprehension, Non-Dominant - Poor sarcasm understanding

Microanatomy
Neurons in cortex arranged in layers and have specific outputs, Pyramidal cells
Layers have specific projections, and different layers have varying prominence of neurons
Distribution
Many different distributions (Ex: Humunculus, Auditory cortex by Hz, and Visual cortex by portion of visual field)
