The war was also called, Revolutionary War and War for Independence.
There were the Tories (Puritants), and the Patriots (Separatists).
The Tories were called "Loyalists" because they were still loyal to Great Britain and did not support independence.
The Patriots wanted independence from Great Britain, they didn't want to follow taxes, nor New Britain.
