EPQ Presentation plan - Coggle Diagram
EPQ Presentation plan
STRUCTURE
TIMINGS- 30 minutes overall- 10 minutes discussing details surrounding content, the main themes of my report and the judgment found from findings; 10 minutes reflection on what I would change if I had more time or different aspects I would go on to explore; 10 minutes discussing the rest of my points
AUDIENCE- In addition to my EPQ supervisor and my form tutor, I would like an extended audience of a few students to attend my presentation as it means that my presentation is speaking to more people and so having a larger impact
SPEAKER NOTES/ AIDS- When practising my presentation I will either utilise speaker notes or flashcards for each slide to help prompt me to know what I need to speak about (depends on which IT I choose to use once tested out)
VISUAL AIDS/ SLIDES- I plan to have a slide for each branch of this mind-map in my presentation (excluding this on structure) to order and group information easier and manage timing. I aim to use a new software such a Prezi to complete my presentation to gain new skills, however I will test it out and depending on how easy it is to navigate otherwise use google slides.
SOURCES
Sources that did not work well/ were not insightful or reliable for my project included:
- The Independent newspaper for case details as such sources tend to exaggerate
- Sources from companies specialising in selling CCTV such as Firstford Fire and Security as it will have been biased for profit
- Certain case records as I had to utilise them for specific details and they were way too long to make accessible or precise such as one on facial recognition.
Sources that were insightful and reliable for my project:
- The Human Rights Act itself was the most useful source i used. i was originally unaware of these laws and information specifically on this concept, so I continually used this source throughout my project.
- I used Judiciary UK on a couple occasions for my case details for south wales police and Fairhurst v Woodard on domestic safety along with Sarah Everards case ( proper legal websites and details of the cases which are the most reliable source)
- Ted talks such as that by Kade Crcokford who specialised upon facial recognition and developing CCTV as it gave me an insight into the technology which many do not have much knowledge about paired with public surveys such as the end violence against women commission as it gave me information about technology specified authority and public's opinion on the matter.

IF I HAD MORE TIME, WHAT WOULD I GO BACK AND DO DIFFERENTLY OR EXPLORE?
If I had more time:
- I would research and evaluate my sources sooner as I underestimated the amount of time this would take for the foundation bulk and meant that I had more work for myself
-Look into more case studies as these provided invaluable insight from experience- aiding content & my evaluation
If I had more time to extend and develop/ an extended word count I would focus much more on the future developments and implications. This is because it is an area of this topic where research and evaluation is lacking but also the most important to society and increasing use. I would also dedicate more time to smaller case details and focus and these are the details additionally lacking in research + examples

CONCLUSION- FINDINGS FROM RESEARCH
- My conclusion differs largely from what I originally thought it would be, reached more of a soft conclusion rather than a hard and clear answer.
- As I have evaluated both justifications and violations about the concept my findings on both sides have validity and so my whole conclusion evolves around my criteria of PROPORTIONALITY
- Recommendations surround proportionality- if guaranteed the benefits can be accessed without violations. However I recommend looking more toward, regulating and legislating the future as we are too far gone to regulate what is already impacting and violating but to prevent worsening we must focus on this as a society- this is what should be shown and done through my findings.
WOULD I DO EPQ AGAIN, WHY?
Yes, not only have I thoroughly enjoyed my topic and the independence that EPQ has granted me through exploring something I enjoy but it has developed so many skills and taught me new skills that are invaluable for further academic study. Harvard referencing has already proved beneficial to me in my coursework and my organisation skills and the methods I have used to do this have proved beneficial and so I will continue to use these too.
