Roads and infraestructure
Point of failure
The tourist corridor
The main focus for the local economy is the tourist coridor and it makes sense when 1. it's the main money flow for the local buissness. 2. people complain even for peaks in economic charge for electric repairs on the infraestructure. 3. water constantly runs due to leaks on the street systems or poorly mantained houses
Unplanned city growth
It's no question when it comes to city planning cabo has little to none, from inner sources in "obras publicas" the people in charge of making city projects revealed that many projects are not followed as planned either becouse lack of investment on tools for precision work or politicians stealing the money
Hurricanes
Where we fail to mantain our current roads are in hurricane and storm season, as current sewer systems flood during the rain contributing to further deteriorating the state of our roads
What holds us back?
The main poblem is that the whole project of upgrading this infraestructure, is the initial investment, as the goverment is not willing to give up so much money at once for souly upgrading road infraestructure with the other current problems as it would be, sewers blockage or water lackage
Is the situation similar in other states?
Unfortunately yes, other mexican states have similar issues when it comes to upgrading infraestructure in cities or even smaller towns, a lot of recurrent drivers like taxis or ubers complain about streets that in many instances are even dangerous to transverse as potholes and other obstructionns menace the integrity of your vehicle
Bright side
Still Developing
San Lucas is a small town relatively speaking, it has shown a rapid growth in the last year, but this just goes to show that we still have the opportunity to improve infrastructure in a not so costly manner
Resourceful location
People from cabo, are known to have a higher salary in comparison to other states, so larger projects would have less impact on the economy of the people, not taking into account that paving streets, ups property value wich attracts every person with a house and a straight mind
Friendliest traffic on Mexico
From empiric learning the community from Los Cabos San Lucas that has experience before hand driving in other parts of the country agree that car traffic is way more relaxed in comparison to other more aggresive states on the country
