Themes
the theme of the Teaser video is about spring going summer. this will be represented by certain locations with the band to show the night life of summer of this band and then it will have a clash with contrast with the more summery parks and beaches.
Cinematography
The cinematography will consist of many handheld shots, many POV shots, as well as medium shots to show the band performing. the reason for the handheld shots is to replicate the feeling of as if you were at the gig and were there recording it on your phone. this accompanied by the POV shots is done to further enforce the feeling of you missing out on the show.
Colour
The colour of the overall teaser video will hint a lot of darker tones most likely through the use of a vignette layer, this will be done to showcase the darker side of the nights where they perform in pubs being a more darker atmosphere, however it will be colour graded in order to have the golden look that the vx1000 has, this will be done to showcase the summer as a whole whilst keeping the indie feel. I want to make it have the vx1000 look due to wanting it to feel more like a memory showing to the audience that this is also a memory that they can be a part of.
Insipiration
The main inspiration for this little teaser video is the Arctic monkey tour of Asia teaser video, in this video they showed snippets of live performances as well as the crowds reaction, it also showcased the locations of the cities they were performing in, lastly it showed a bit of the Arctic monkeys themselves. The overall mood of this video was very upbeat to show how chaotic it is to live on tour whilst also showing the audience how good the performances are and why they should attend. I will take full inspiration from this for Auden band to demonstrate to their social accounts on what they are missing out on
locations
The locations will consist of, The Joiners, Southampton city centre as a whole, as well as the places surrounding the venue spots. this is because the video is done to advertise their performance in this area and it showcases for a distance audience on the place that they can stay in if they want to visit the auden band preforming
another location will be a park of some sort to show the more sunny and vibrant atmosphere of summer/spring. this is because during the hotter weather more people get out and about with the family and with the song missed calls it is about the summery feel as Fin Darke the lead singer has mentioned to me.
Poster
Style
the poster will have a more vintage look to it almost as if it is a vhs tape shot on vx1000. this is because the vx1000 is the desired look i want to go with through out the project. this is because the vx1000 camcorder consists of a colour palette of a more golden look making the dull and dark scene more lively through the over exposure.
The poster will consist of a certain colour palette which will very much showing the clashing side of summer. the palette will consist of yellows, greens and a vignette layer to show a contrast. this is because the Auden band and the preform in a lot of pub which are normally darker places. this will show the night life that they portray throughout summer for their audience.
Another style i can try it is more psychedelic in order to lure the viewer into more research into the band. this is because it will make it seem more wild and more abstract engaging the viewers altman pleasure of intellectual puzzle
What will it look like
The actually poster will be the band with their gear in a field shot on a camera and colour graded on photoshop. with the summer font writing the album name and the iconic logo bottom middle
I will use the summer font by fadillah studio in order to give it an almost indie aesthetic. This thin font will fit in with the given mood of the poster and really emphasize the spring. .
some of the ideas for the poster can be more abstract for example i can use reflection photography in order to show the two different sides of the band with the live performances whilst keeping the more indie look and the vx1000 type aesthetic
What do i need to use.
The major thing i will have to use is a camera to get the different shot in which i will pick the best one for the poster. I will the proceed to use photoshop and light room into properly adjust the colour and add a filter in order to achieved my desired look.
Due to not being amazingly confident on photoshop i will need to use Google Youtube in order to achieve my desired effect through youtube tutorials on how to achieve my desired effect
Who will i need
For the shoot in order to create the poster i will need to ask Auden band for a specific shooting date so that we can arrange it. i will have to create a risk assessment and a recce as well as sign consent forms to make sure i am meeting all legal requirments.
Where will it be posted
This poster will be released on Instagram due to being the biggest reach of their platforms to create anticipation for the release of the song
Vinyl
Themes
the theme of the vinyl is about spring going summer. this will be represented by certain locations with such as a park which is key highlight of spring/summer as that is where a lot of families and or friend groups hang out during the hotter period
Inspiration
The inspiration for the vinyl cover will be the arctic monkeys cover being for the car. this is because they used the right tint ini as well as i want to create something similar but with a phone going off. this is because the song is named missed calls and having an establishing shot showing a phone buzzing will be the best way to explicitly imply the song name
Cinematography
The cinematography may take a few takes to get the right length shot whether it will be long and or establishing. this is because i want to place the phone at a distance with a slight tilt on it in order to show the isolation. to really emphasise missing the phone call
Location
The location will consist of some sort of park where there is alot of greenery to show of the aspect of summer/ spring.
Colour
To keep consistency through out my campaign the vinyl will stick to the same colour having that golden look of the vx1000 to further connote the spring/summer feeling
Music video
Locations
The locations of the music will consist of one primary location being a field with a forest, this will be the primary location due to having a lot of colours which can be easily over saturated to achieve that desired vx1000 look, as well as this it is a very summer based locations with it being able to engage a emotional pleasure for the audience being to remember the locations from when they were younger if they were similar to the one within the video.
Colour
the colour of the music video will go for a more saturated look in certain aspects especially in the outdoor scenery, such as with the greens. Furthermore the colour of the whole video will be slightly orange due to the fact i want to achieve a VX1000 look, to do this i will use a camera with a white balance issues this will mean that the video will have an inconsistency with colour between orange to a darker colour. This is done to engage the target audience of 18-24 year old indie rock lovers who are big on the "indie aesthetic"
Cinematography
Cinematography in the music video will consist of purely hand held shot due to wanting to incorporate the french new wave technique of breaking the 4th wall, i will do this to make it look as if capture memories via vintage camera being replayed to an audience within the music video.
