Sensory: (Take picture of hand against tree, touch tree, touch mud, touch things outside etc.) feel connected with the environment

Intro Activity: collaborative tree (paint handprints, trace or draw hands)
Students free draw hand then turn it into a tree
Contour Drawing discussion (For drawing hand that turns into tree)
Introduction: Discuss how people impact the environment; body connection and emotional state when in the environment
Collection of materials outside if they wanted to glue onto their individual hand tree

Elements of art
Activity:
-Go outside and collect objects with patterns
-making zines of different patterns found outside (they could connect this to a story)
Zines
Tape/glue outside collectives into zine, create a story about cycle (ex: cycle of a leaf)
PowerPoint on life cycles, patterns, art in the environment etc.
Make a chart of life cycles and ecosystems; connect art and environment (where do you see art outside? what do you consider to be art?)
