This is my aunt who I love dearly. She is the only person that pursued my dreams and strive for success. No matter what, she has always been there to support me and provide guidance. I remember countless times when I doubted myself and wanted to give up, but she would always remind of my potential and push me to keep going no matter what I go through. My aunt has a remarkable ability to see the best in people and bring out the hidden talents within them.
She plays a significant role in supporting me with my mental health as well. Having someone like her being there for me during challenging times and offers understanding, guidance, and empathy had made a huge different in my mental well-being.
She also provides a safe space for me to open up and share my struggles. Her supportive presence and encouragement had a positive impact.
Nature
I love being outdoors since it allows me to connect with nature and experience the beauty of the world. Whether I'm taking a walk through the park, swimming, at a ski resort, or simply sitting outside and enjoying the fresh air, being outdoors brings a sense of peace and tranquility that cannot be found indoors.
This provides a space where I connect with nature, rejuvenate my mind, and appreciate. It also offers a sense of freedom and serenity that I cherish.
The sights, sounds, and scents of the natural world brings a calming effect, helping me escape the stresses and demands of everyday life. The feeling of the wind on my face, the warmth of the sun on my skin, and the rustling of leaves in the trees all contribute to a profound sense of peace that I sometimes struggle to find elsewhere.
Music
Listening to music has always been something that I use to cope with my mental health. I have been listening to this album nonstop called OHMS by Deftones. It has helped me get through my tough days. My two favorite songs from this are Genesis and The Spell of Mathematics.
Music has the ability to help me express complex emotions that can be difficult to articulate with words. This helps me to process and understand my feelings, leading to emotional release and relief.
It serves as a healthy distraction from negative thoughts and emotions, providing a mental break.
It impacts me because it also helps with combating my feelings of loneliness and isolation, which gives a sense of belonging and support.
Mental Health
My mental health plays a crucial role in shaping who I am as a person. It influences my thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and overall well-being.
I struggle with depression and anxiety which significantly impact my daily life. These mental health challenges can manifest in various ways, such as as persistent feelings of sadness and hopelessness. There is also a heightened levels of worry, fear, and tension.
Coping can can be emotionally draining, leading to difficulties in concentration, making decisions, and interacting with others. This is from the constant battle with negative thoughts and overwhelming emotions which will diminish my energy levels with motivation, making it hard to engage in activities I once enjoyed or to tackle daily tasks with the same enthusiasm.
While navigating through this, I am seeking help, practicing self-care strategies, and learning on the support of loved ones to manage this effectively.
Religion
I have grown up around my family members where some were Catholic or Christian. This exposed me to various traditions, rituals, and teachings. I am Christian and luckily, no one has told me which religion to be apart of. Having different perspectives within my family provided a unique opportunity to learn and grow my own understanding. It allowed me to navigate the world with my beliefs and faith.
I have always been encouraged to ask questions, seek knowledge, and form my own beliefs based on what resonates with me personally. It also allowed me to be open-minded and accepting of other people's beliefs.
