At the banquet at Macbeth's castle one of the murderers tell Macbeth in private that Banquo has been killed but Fleance escaped.

The ghost of Banquo appears in Macbeth's seat at the table.

Macbeth finds it suspicious that Macduff doesn't show up

Macbeth apologises to the lords.

Hecate is unhappy that the witches haven't involved her in the dealings with Macbeth.

A lord reports that Malcolm is with the English king and that Macduff has gone hoping to find support for an attack of Macbeth.

Act 4

A messenger arrives and warns Lady Macduff that danger is approaching.

Hecate enters with three witches, Macbeth commands the Witches to answer his questions.

The witches summon apparitions to give Macbeth the answers he wants.

The apparitions were: beware Macduff, he can't be harmed by a man born of a women and he can't be defeated until Birnam Wood comes to Dunsinane.

The witches show Macbeth a procession of eight Kings, accompanied by the Ghost of Banquo himself.

The witches go and Lennox arrives to report that Macduff has fled to England.

The men kill Lady Macduff's son and chase after her as she tried to escape.

Malcolm is visited by Macduff who wants him to lead an army to Scotland.
