Dodd's Research
Procedure - Asked 299 ppts (undergrad psych students) 'If you could do anything humanely possible with complete assurance you wouldn't be detected or held responsible, what would you do?' Responses were anonymous, which they knew. 3 independent raters who didn't know the hypothesis decided the antisocial categories they belonged to
Findings - 36% responses involved antisocial behaviour, 26% were actual crimes (rob a bank, murder, rape, assassination), 9% were prosocial. Demonstrates link between anonymity, deindividuation and aggression.
