Skin Cancers
Malignant Melanoma-most lethal form of skin cancer. studies show a number of defective tumor suppressor genes that are lunked t maligant melanoma (9p21)
Basal Cell Carcinoma- most common form of skin cancer, light skin and sun exposure greatly increase the risk of development
Squamous Cell Carcinoma- apperas as red, crusted patches on the skin, nonehaling ulcer or a form red nodule
Kaposis Sacrcoma- cancer that develops within blood and lymphatic vessels. tumors will appear purple and painless.
Enviromental Factors
Pressure Ulcers- bedsores, the most common skin ulcer. pressure causing dimished blood flow to the skin makes it particularly vulnerable.
