One summer afternoon Daniel and Joe, two brothers, decide to go on an adventure. Daniel likes to go fishing and Joe hunting, so they decide to walk along the railroad tracks to a small lake nearby. To reach the lake the boys must cross a very high trestle. About halfway across the boys hear a train moving in their direction. The boys know that their only chance to survive is to hang off the edge of the trestle with only their two hands. They survive; however, it is a very close call. Later that afternoon when they arrive at the lake, the boys notice another pair of brothers that they have a rival with. There is a skirmish with Daniel being held with a knife to his throat, but Joe is able to save him, and they chase Clifford and Chester away from the lake. The story will end with the brothers walking home along the tracks, Daniel with a fish and Joe with a duck talking about how it was a very eventful day.
