1.3 A) SICK SINUS SYNDROME - Coggle Diagram
1.3 A) SICK SINUS SYNDROME
DEFINITION
Disorder of sinoatrial node where impaired pacemaker fucntion and impulse transmission where causing abrnomal
heart rhythm
ETIOLOGY
Damage to SA node
Degeneration of SA node due aging
Medication treat hypertension and arrthymia
Diseases lead to Sick sinus syndrome - Heart failure
PATHOPHYSIOLOGY
SA node cells consist of P Cells for instrinsic pacemaker and T cells to propagate the impulse to right atrium. Dysfunction of these cells lead to arrthymia
Arupt, inappropriate and severe sinus bradycardia
Sinus pause which pauses of 3 seconds or more of atrial activity.
Caused by P cells
Rescue by escape rhythm
Atrial/ junctional / ventricular
Escape rhythm = Area start abnormal rhythm that replaced work of dysfunction of SA node
