pg. 152, act 1: "if this were made public, it would only create sympathy for the other side" (mrs. mahler)
this character doesn't want the public siding with "the other side"; and she thinks of, i'm assuming, whichever culture the ppl stole from, is of opposition to the museum she works for?

pg. 170, act 1: "that's because you talk from both sides of your mouth" (said by kawehi)
could be a reference to how being a native hawaiian, and working for a european thing (museum?) can change you
similar to how: being asian, but living and growing up in another community (like in the US) can change your attitude, mindset, etc - making it different from how other ppl might think who are of your ethnicity
something like: being asian-american vs asians who haven't experienced american life like asian americans have
can change your values, differing from those who are "fully" on that one side of you, that kind of thing
(but don't say "half asian", that just sounds wrong; i mean to say... your mind being changed (maybe along with values too if that applies) according to your environment and your situation
because sometimes, you have no choice but to change your mind and values to stay sane in a society; but that risks your now former values, and your identity (succumbing to (mindset) the society around you)
it can be hard to stay different in a society/(work) environment that enforces ideas that you don't agree with
(this is what might've happened to pua, seeing that he describes himself as a native hawaiian)
but in the casting page, it says that pua is part hawaiin
talking from both sides of your mouth: "to change one's opinion on something depending on their "audience"
pg. 172, act 1: sprinkling themselves with salt water and ti leaf
