Summary - Willy Loman believes fervently in the American Dream and becomes negligent to his family and gives everything to the capitalist ploy
Willy wanted to be a salesman because he saw Dave Singleman live a life of solitude but pleasure as he was wealthy. But Willy failed to see how lonely he was.
When Willy died, he expected his funeral to be like Dave Singlemans but only his family and neighbour showed up.
He believed that being well-liked would get him far in life but he was not as well-liked as he thought he was. He preached nepotism to his kids and believed that because he knew Howards (boss) father, he would get a promotion.
