According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the National Labor Relations Act states that employees have the right to organize, form, join, or assist in a union to negotiate with employers concerning wages, hours, working conditions, and employment conditions (2022). The U.S. Dol adds that employees receive protection from employers as they cannot question employees about a union or negotiate participation as well as, fire, transfer, reduce hours, or change shifts to punish employees for involvement in union activities (2022). This can cause boycotts or strikes that directly result in delays in business operations.
