HUMAN ORGAN SYSTEM - Coggle Diagram
HUMAN ORGAN SYSTEM
Excretory system a vital biological system that removes excess and waste products from the body to maintain homeostasis. Most of these products are in fact used and broken down components of metabolism that leave the body in the form of urine, sweat, or feces.
Kidney- Excrete Urine wastes from the blood
Anus- excrete feces
Lungs- excrete carbon dioxide from teh body
Skin- removes perspiration (dissolves waste materials) (sweat)
Immune System Provides a barrier against pathogens (disease-causing agents).
Defends the body against pathogens.
-
Second Line of Defense: Inflammatory response
An inflammatory response that uses phagocytes (white blood cells) to engulf & destroy the pathogen.
-
Musculo-Skeletal System

Nervous system Network of organs and nerves that send signals throughout the body.
Central Nervous system
The central nervous system (CNS) is made up of the brain and spinal cord.
Peripheral Nervous System which consists of nerves that connect the brain and spinal cord to the rest of the body.
Neurons- cell that receives and send signals to the brain called impulses

Integumentary Gland this system performs many intricate functions such as body temperature regulation, cell fluid maintenance, synthesis of Vitamin D, and detection of stimuli.
epidermis- Outermost layer, no nerves or blood vessels, Surface is made of dead cells
Dermis a connective tissue layer sandwiched between the epidermis and subcutaneous tissue
Circulatory system delivers oxygen and nutrients to cells and takes away wastes.
heart The heart pumps oxygenated and deoxygenated blood on different sides
.
Blood Vessels The types of blood vessels include arteries, capillaries and veins
Types of blood vessels

Respiratory System
Functions: Move the oxygen outside the body into the body (Inhale) and removes carbon dioxide and water from the body (Exhale)
Structures of the Lungs:
Bronchus
Alveoli
Capillary
Bronchiole
Trachea
Digestive System The digestive system is a long, twisting tube that starts at the mouth and goes through the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine and ends at the anus. The digestive system breaks down food into simple nutrients such as carbohydrates, fats and proteins.
