The most likely types to go into mass movements -> the poor, the misfits, outcasts, minorities, teens, ambitious, those in grips of vice, the impotent, the selfish, the bored, the sinners.
Slaves don't start mass movements, only those recently enslaved & freed slaves, as they are the discontented ones.
Where there exist strong family units, national, racial and religious ties -> It becomes much harder to start movements 'as it doesn't directly impact my unit' in which I belong.
My thoughts -> Movements target the destruction of the family unit and ultimately weakening of the self along the creation of a large 'slave class' that is not disrupted enough to revolt nor follow an 'anti' mass movement, but are perfectly set to follow any other pre planned mass movement.
This is true in companies as well, you want to maximize productivity by incentivizing the teams.
Those who see their lives as wasted seek fraternity and equality. - Even is they say they want freedom, they want the former.
Real freedom = Masses want equality, Real Equality = Minority wants freedom
True Equality to them = Everyone bowing down to the same leader, and being provided the freedom of responsibility as someone else now decides.
