Autonomic Nervous System
Made of two systems that work in opposition to each other, helping us react involuntarily during emergencies. All changes are maintained by the endocrine system (hormones) that release adrenaline.
-Parasympathetic -- Small Pupils, a normal flow of saliva, slow digestion, normal breathing & bathroom urges.
-Sympathetic -- Dilated pupils, dry mouth, accelerated heartbeat, heavy breathing, stops hunger & stops urges for the bathroom.
Symptoms:
- Heavier breathing
- Increased heart rate
- Blood carries more Oxygen
- Sweating to cool us down
- Dilated pupils
- Digestive system consuming more sugar
- Blood clots easier (for injuries)
- Brain produces more endorphins
