    - - In an electric circuit a short circuit occurs when the electric current is transported by the wires without passing through a load device
      - To detect a short circuit, we need to remember that electrons always take the easiest path. They flow along the path that offers the least resistance.
      - In a circuit with a cell, if we connect the two terminals without passing through a load device, the cell will run down but it will have no effect. However, short circuits in the home are very dangerous: they can cause a fire or an electric shock
