Basic electrcity
- Electricity. Electrical energy
Definitions:
-
Electricity is a form of energy that lets negatively charged particles (electrons) move from one atom to another.
-
-
- Conductors and insulators
-
-
- Electric circuit. Components
An electricity circuit ia a series of interconnected components that an electric current flows through to produce an effect (like light, heat, sound or motion)

- Representing circuits: electrical schematics.
-
- Open circuits and closed circuits. Short circuits.
-
Short circuits.
A short circuit occurs when the electric current is transported by the wires without passing through a load device.

- Main electric variables. Ohm´s law
The three main variables
-
-
Current: This is the intensity of the current or the amount o electrons flowing through a conductor over a certain time. Its unit is the ampere or amp.
Ohm´s law: "The current in a circuit is directly proportional to the electric potential difference impessed across its ends and inversely proportional to the total resistance offered by the external circuit."
-
- Types of circuits: series, parallel and series-parallel combination
