We represent electrical circuits with a very simple drawing called an elecctrical schematic. Every component in a circuit has a standardisedsymbol to reprsent it in a simple way that anybody can understand. The symbolic representations of each of the circuit components mentioned above are shown on the tables in section 3.

There are two types:
1.Electricity: Is a form of energy that lets negatively charged particles move from one atom to another.
2.Electric current: Is the flow of electrons from one atom to another inside a conductive material.
In an electric circuit, a short circuit occurs when the elctric current is tranported by the wires without passing through a load device
To detect a short circuit, we need to remember that electrons always take the easiest path; in other words, they flow along the path that offers the least resistance. Example:
-
-
-LOAD DEVICES: Receive electrical energy from the power sources and convert it to other types of useful energy.
-
INSULATORS: Are materials that do not let electric current flow trough them.
CONDUCTORS:Are materials that let electricitycurrent flow trough them.
-Even if one the load devices stops working, the rest continue to work because the electric current takes another path
-
-
-If one stops working, none of them will work because the circuit will be open.

-
An electric circuit is a series of interconnected components that an electric current flows trough to produce an effect.
-
-
-CONTROL DEVICES: Regulate the circuit; in other words, they allow or prevent the flow of electric current through the circuit.
-
-
-
-
-POWER SOURCES: Supply the necessary electrical energy to the rest of the circuit in order to move electrons.
-
-CONDUCTORS: Transport the electrical energy from the power sources to the load devices.
- Difference between NO and NC pushswitches.
-
-
- Circuit with multiple load devices
- Circuit with multiple control devices.
- A circuit is open when the energy of the power source cannot reach the load devices, so the electric current cannot flow. This can happen if the switch is open, but it can also be because of a fault in the circuit (for example, if a wire is loose)
- A circuit is closed when the energy of the power source reaches the load dervices,so the electric current flows.
