Non-linear narrative: Flashbacks and memory distortions will reflect the mental confusion Jay experiences.

Jay kills people and starts to see things that aren't there and he sees representations of the people he killed all while trying to believe it was all an accident, this false belief is what drives him to insanity
He is later admitted to the hospital to help heal his wounds, because the family didn't die without fighting him
In the hospital he starts to see the shadowy figures of the people he killed as they taunt him and cause him to try to escape the hospital
The police chase, catch and bring him back to the hospital and try to interrogate him to find out why he ran, but he thinks that none understands him that he is the only one that can see the figures and he starts to tweak and attacks the policeman.
The man ends up in court because of his actions and he tries to explain to the judge what he is seeing, but the judge dismisses it and orders a test to examine the mans mental health.
The test show that the man is in fact mentally unstable and he is ordered to be placed in a maximum security mental hospital to prevent harm to him or others
He starts seeing the figures inside the mental hospital and begins to run around, believing they are chasing him. After a while, the guards subdue him and take him into solitary confinement
After he is left alone in solitary the man starts to wake up to reality realizing his punishment is the everlasting fact that no one will understand him and that he will remain a social outcast for the rest of his life, as he sits in his cell he starts to think about taking his own life but realizes its futile, so he just sits in his cell as his brain gets slowly consumed by loneliness
