HOW?

Caused by a genetic mutaition from the same gene. Both parents need to have Morquio Syndrome gene in order for their child to get the disease

WHEN?
Morquio Syndrome appears around ages 1-3 although not visable at birth, it will progressively worsen as the child grows
The suagr chains accumulate in cells, blood, tendons, and ligaments, causing damage over time.

WHAT?

There are two types of Morquio Syndrome. There is Type A and Type B. About 95% of cases are Type A and 5% of cases are Type B

WHO?
Parents who carry one copy of the mutated gene are considered carriers and do not typically show symptoms of the condition themselves.
