        Like Christopher Columbus, Hernando Cortes's voyages to Mexico lead to new trade routes, cultural changes in the Americas, as well as decimating the Aztec Empire with diseases and capturing the last ruler. Before that, however, Colummbus also forced religious conversion into Christianity.

        Francisco Pizzaro's expeditions led to the fall of the Incan Empire, causing cultural and demographic changes, as well as exploitation of the region's materials and sources. There, Pizzaro also founded the city of Lima.

        Vasco da Gama was one of the most successful Portugese explorers because he was the person who found a direct sea rout to Asia when he arrived at India after just one try.

        Prince Henry found various types of exotic goods that could not be found in Portugal, such as pepper, cinnamon, cloves, and other supplies. There, he also collected large supplies of gold, silver, and jewelry. Prince Henry's main goal, however, was to spread Christianity.
