control of heart rate - Coggle Diagram
control of heart rate
medulla oblongata ( location of cardiac control centre)
connected to sino atrial node via 2 diffrent nervous systems
sympathetic nervous sytem
stimulation of SA node via accelerator nerve - heart beat gets faster
parasympathetic nervous system
decrease in heart rate via vagus nerve
three mechanisms
neural control
chemo receptors - found in blood
informs medulla blood acidity decreases - sympathetic stimulation of the heart - decrease heart rate
baroreceptors - detect blood pressure
proprioceptors. - detect muscles tension in muscles
movement occurring increase inheart rate to sustain movement
hormonal
anticipatory rise
stimulating SA node from release of adrenaline
intrinsic control
heart senses changes
temp change
generate fewer/more contractions
contractivity - more venous return back to the heart
heart stretches in size
relayed back tpnSA node to lower rate of contraction
