- - - - In research understanding is insightful, contextual, transformative, and ongoing.
  - - - In the faith, intellectual and heart-level prepares us to recognize and receive Truth, leading us to Christ
    - - Human understanding will always be limited, truth is not dependent on our perception. We are prone to be limited to our own lived experiences and perspectives.
    - - Truth isn't separate from grace (love). But understanding is a very human concept, susceptible to being distorted and separated from love. Truth righty received, via understanding, leads to humility, justice, and freedom.
    - - As understanding is a very human concept, it requires tangible work to sift through the implications of our perceptions (broken as we are). Some truth requires revelation (by means of scripture, prayer and the Holy Spirit), a full dependence of the spiritual work of a transcendent God.
- - - - I think the vocation as researchers and academic is to respond to God's call to seek truth, love others, and serve others in our professional work
- - - - Research is to serve others: Reflect Christ's love/Contribute to healing & restoration/greater understanding
